Set in Watamu, Kenya, the film explores how the conservation of sea turtles is deeply connected to the health of marine ecosystems and local communities. Through the work of rescuers, scientists, educators, fishermen and volunteers, it follows the turtles' journey from rescue and rehabilitation to nesting and release.
Along the way it shows LOC's work in environmental education, mangrove restoration, community clean-ups, sustainable fishing and hatchling protection: proof that community-led conservation can protect biodiversity while supporting local livelihoods.
Protecting sea turtles means protecting an entire ecosystem. The future of wildlife and people is inseparably connected.
